We are sitting beneath a willow and drinking coffee. It’s such a peaceful time of the day. There is not much people walking around and nobody anywhere is in a hurry. We are chatting. And he is telling stories and stops from time to time, to sort out his life from the beginning till now. And we are drawing croquis, like the famous Slovenian poet Menart has done before us.
I am a student of media communications, finishing my study as of now, concluding my diploma on the field of Big data, a typical Slovenian student, studying and working. I have been working since primary school. First just for fun – just to chase away my boredom, I was an IT sole trader when I was 18, 20 years old, then I started with open source communities, later also with mobile phones and everything that involves their technology by Mobisux.
He is hurrying, because work is waiting and goes on. In my later life I invested 7 years of my time in business applications, and also explored in very different waters, literally, because at that time I was a swimming teacher for children and also worked in a store. It was around that time that I acquired my international canyoning guide license. And now that the season is right, I like to experience it whenever I have free time. Yes, of course, not to forget Ourspace: I met Jure 3 years ago, actually when mutual friends of mine mentioned Jure to me… that’s how it goes, somebody tells you about someone else, and he tells him about you – and that’s how we found each other, we enjoy the time, you have to enjoy the time you have, and work is all of a sudden not so difficult to do anymore, because here I find the unlimited workspace I need; I start at 9 and finish till I do my work for the day. The week and daytimes are for work. Weekends on the other hand…

I have so many different things I like to do, I am a firefighter, I do canyoning, I cycle and so much more. I am a member of an extreme sports family, which is also visible in my surname. Tomaž was a very distant relative of mine and he passionately added: but I am the grandson of Metod Humar, one of the first Yugoslavian climbers in the Himalayas, and the active free time has always been in my blood.
And as I listened to him, I can say: Passion for everything he does, doing everything with joy.
Aleš Leko Gulič
Born in the right year and outlived everything that happened in Trbovlje and around in the last 60 years and some more, also studying and working in Ljubljana, but as a daily commuter. Now retired. Never surrender! I am a co-worker of some movies and such things. Let’s say, biker-specific things. And Father Christmas, when the time comes. Red cross. Worked in institutes such as Delavski dom Trbovlje, a voice of the radio station Rock radio every Sunday at 20.00 pm and in the OSAP Hive with newest features at Fridays.
