Coffee with employees – Aljaž Rijavec

Somewhere from afar, away from the noise of the big city, emerges an old-spirited, rocking Freebird from the crowds of those passing-by. Aljaž Rijavec stretches himself in his chair and begins to tell me his story. First very slowly, like picking grains from the crops, but steadily growing faster and stronger, till his voice fades away. In tune with the music playing.

He comes from Primorska that is his home, he tells me, he studied more natural sciencies as is nature of his current work but didn’t wait for a job to suddenly fall from the skies, he switched his career and now he came to Ourspace, and that’s that. People always deal with information; they manage it, search for it and adjust their value accordingly, every time differently. His path is the usual one: secondary school, then college. He talks wisely but at the same time he feels alive, somewhat restless and all-rounded, like da Vinci in his days before. You can see this trait of him very well, every time he leans forward and falls silent for a few moments.

Active and whole-hearted. He is involved in millions of things, not only on the surface of them, but deeper – knowing them. Professionally involved, although as a hobby, so that he is never bored, always in motion, flying in the air and only sitting and thinking for a moment, just like his birds, his bats to be more precise. Freedom. Mother Nature as the wise teacher. He thinks, he is sure, that everybody should search their answers in nature, that everybody should be involved with it. Involved with people, with society, because it is the same, because it is similar, sometimes really just the same thing.

The accent of Primroska is ringing in the setting, only the noise of the city covers the silence. Aljaž flies to his inner thoughts again. Freebird.
